🧠 Selfmate – Anonymous Dating App with Personalized Avatars

Project Overview:
Selfmate is an innovative mobile dating app focused on preserving user privacy while enhancing emotional connection. Instead of profile pictures, users create personalized avatars to represent themselves, enabling anonymous yet expressive interactions.

What We Did:
- UX Research & Backlog Planning: Conducted user interviews and competitive analysis to define user personas and journey maps. Created a detailed feature backlog aligned with user needs.
- UI Design & Design System: Designed a modern, user-friendly interface with a dark/light mode toggle. Developed a consistent design system including color palette, typography, and component library.
- Interactive Prototyping: Built a fully clickable prototype in Figma that showcased core app flows like onboarding, avatar creation, matching, and messaging.
- Landing Page Design: Designed a compelling, conversion-optimized landing page to pitch the app and gather early user sign-ups.
Outcome:
This concept-focused project helped refine our skills in designing for anonymity, emotional UX, and scalable UI systems. The interactive prototype was presented as part of a portfolio showcase and received positive feedback for creativity and usability.
